BDO Abogados appoints five new partners, taking its Spanish partnership to 28
Internal promotions across four practice areas: the firm backs home-grown talent and moves well past twenty partners in Spain.

BDO Abogados has appointed five new partners in Spain: Diego Herrero, Eric Jové, Lucía Segarra and Víctor Gisbert in the legal and tax practice, and Diosdado López in Business Services & Outsourcing. The appointments take the firm's Spanish partnership to 28, according to the firm.
The firm's president in Spain, Enrique Azorín, linked the appointments to the promotees' in-house track records: "The appointment of these five professionals is the natural result of their commitment and experience. With them, BDO Abogados reinforces its commitment to internal talent and takes another step towards offering more specialised, top-quality services to our clients."
The five new partners' profiles
The longest-serving at the firm is Víctor Gisbert, who joined in 2013 after starting his career at Deloitte Abogados y Asesores Tributarios. He has more than 18 years of experience in taxation and tax advice, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, due diligence processes, domestic and international taxation, wealth planning and advice to family businesses and generational succession processes.
Eric Jové, with more than 15 years of experience, has led the firm's Global Private Client Services tax team since 2014. His practice focuses on tax advice and wealth planning for high-net-worth individuals, business owners, entrepreneurs and business families: organising and protecting wealth, succession planning, investment structuring and advice on international relocations.
Diosdado López joined the firm in 2015 and has led the Business Services & Outsourcing practice, advising multinational groups. He specialises in technology, innovation and digital infrastructure, advising software companies, digital platforms, cybersecurity, telecoms, data centre and pharmaceutical businesses on expansion, accounting and financial transformation and operational optimisation.
Lucía Segarra joined in 2020 and has headed the Legal practice since 2023. She has more than 20 years of experience advising on domestic and international transactions.
Diego Herrero, the most recent joiner, has been with the firm since 2022 and has more than 16 years of experience in commercial law: M&A transactions, due diligence, investment agreements, shareholders' agreements, corporate restructurings and commercial contracts in general.
The appointments were announced internally before being made public this week. With them, the firm's governance structure in Spain keeps the balance between its two historical pillars: the legal and tax advisory business, which concentrates most of the partnership, and the outsourcing division, which has become a growth engine in recent years.
A continuity promotion
All five appointments are internal promotions, a pattern large firms use both to retain talent and to signal stability to clients. In BDO Abogados' case, the round covers the two main legs of its business: legal and tax advice, with four of the five partners, and outsourcing services, a line the firm has been strengthening as an entry point to recurring relationships with multinational groups.
The move comes in an active autumn at the top of Spanish law firms. In recent weeks this section has covered the appointment of David Pintos as RCD partner, the hire of Cristina Ayo from Uría by BPV as litigation partner and the arrival of Guillermo Rodrigo at Osborne Clarke from Baker McKenzie.
For those tracking a career inside a firm, these promotions illustrate the stages of a law firm career, from junior to partner: all five new partners accumulated between 15 and more than 20 years of practice and team or practice management before making partner. They also explain why partner pay structures are an increasingly open conversation in the sector.
