What it does not include

The list covers national and regional public holidays. The local holidays of each municipality do not appear in this resolution, and must be checked separately.

Nor should the working calendar be confused with the counting of procedural or administrative deadlines, which have their own rules on non-working days. For e-invoice deadlines, for example, Royal Decree 238/2026 expressly excludes national public holidays, as we explain in the guide to mandatory e-invoicing.

What to do at the firm

  1. Set the 2027 working calendar with the national, regional and local holidays that apply to each workplace.
  2. Communicate it to staff and to lawyers with an employment relationship, whose regime we explain in the guide to the special employment relationship.
  3. Take offices in different communities into account: each will follow its own regional calendar.
  4. Plan office closures and client service in the weeks with several holidays, such as Holy Week in late March.
