Opus 2, the British provider of commercial disputes software, has announced the acquisition of Bundledocs, the Irish company behind cloud software for preparing, reviewing and managing document bundles. The deal was announced on October 1, 2026 without disclosing the amount.

It is Opus 2's third acquisition in five years. With it, the company says it strengthens its position across the full dispute cycle and accelerates its product roadmap, in particular for firms with a multijurisdictional practice. Its Opus 2 Ingenuity platform, with an agentic AI framework, is used, according to the company, by 98% of the Am Law 50 and 96% of the 50 largest global law firms, with more than 1,800 matters a month collaborating on it.

What Bundledocs brings

Founded in Cork, Bundledocs develops collaborative document bundling software: document preparation with built-in review, real-time collaboration and secure cloud access. It serves around 1,900 customers in 35 countries, including more than 100 of the 200 largest UK law firms, and is certified ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II, with integrations to the leading document management platforms.

Brian Kenneally, co-founder and chief executive of Bundledocs, calls the union a natural step and says the new stage will let them keep innovating for their customers. Greg Blackman, chief executive of Opus 2, argues the acquisition responds to giving firms "every possible advantage and efficiency". Opus 2 was founded in 2008.

Why the piece matters

Bundles are one of the most manual and repetitive tasks in litigation: compiling, ordering, paginating and reviewing the document packages taken to trial or shared with the opposing party. A pagination error or a document out of place is discovered at the worst moment. Integrating that piece into a disputes platform with agents points to automating an entire stretch of preparation work, not just the analysis.

For Bundledocs's 1,900 customers, the practical question is whether the product will keep working with the same integrations and terms inside a larger house. The releases from both companies promise continuity and innovation, with no roadmap details yet. For Opus 2, the acquisition adds an installed base in 35 countries and a daily-use piece that complements its offering of dispute management, hearings and collaborative matter work.

Consolidation through acquisitions is the fast route for established makers. Facing them, the new specialists keep attracting capital to grow on their own, as shown by the 2 million euro seed round of SmallClaims in automated litigation.

The deal fits the direction the big makers are taking this season: Harvey and its Legal Work Orchestration organize matters into phases, tasks and reviews so agents work inside a process, and connectors such as Legatics's bring live data into those flows. Opus 2 buys, instead of integrating, a piece already installed in hundreds of law firms.

While the makers consolidate, capital keeps flowing into new specialists: this very month we covered the 13.5 million euro Series A of Pandektes in legal research.
