The Spanish Data Protection Agency has published how it uses generative artificial intelligence in its own processes. Its documents are not a rule for firms, but they are a practical reference from the supervisory authority on prompts, personal data, human review and hiring suppliers.
On 20 March 2026 the Plenary of the General Council of the Spanish Legal Profession approved an interpretive circular on the use of generative artificial intelligence in briefs. Its central conclusion: using AI is lawful, but filing what it produces without verifying it is, in general, a serious offence.
