Editorial: a multiple-choice exam is not enough to measure whether someone is ready to practise
The 2026 bar aptitude test was taken online with multiple-choice questions, and its mark is weighted with the master's. The format has obvious virtues. It also has a limit: it does not measure what a lawyer does on their first day at the firm.
