ICAB 2026-2027: Master's in Real Estate Law, legal languages and Postgraduate in Legal Practice

The Illustrious Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB) has published its training offer for the 2026-2027 academic year. We have reviewed its official website and summarise three options: the Master's in Real Estate Law, the legal language courses and the Postgraduate in Legal Practice of the School of Legal Practice (EPJ). Prices and conditions are those shown on the bar association's website at the date of this article.

ICAB Master's in Real Estate Law 2026-2027

• Start: 30 September 2026.
• Format: in person at ICAB or online, with live Zoom video conferences, to be chosen.
• Content: cross-disciplinary training combining civil, planning, registry, tax and procedural law. It includes real estate contracts, leases, planning, the land registry and housing in stressed areas.
• Aimed at: law graduates and real estate professionals, such as architects, quantity surveyors, planning technicians, economists, intermediaries and estate agents.
• Faculty: specialist lawyers, notaries, registrars, judges and university professors. The scientific committee includes Chantal Moll de Alba Lacuve, Marian Avedillo Ros, Pablo Molina Alegre, Joan Sacristán Tarragó and Jaime Pereda Ríos.

Published prices (with the 10% discount for those holding the Training and Documentation Service contract):

• ICAB members of the last five years, former students of ICAB and EPJ master's programmes and associated persons: enrolment of €710 and eight instalments of €350, €3,510 in total.
• ICAB members of more than five years: enrolment of €760 and eight instalments of €400, €3,960 in total.
• Members of other bar associations: enrolment of €900 and eight instalments of €450, €4,500 in total.

The website adds that there is a 10% early payment discount, subject to prior notice, and that it can be cancelled with a refund if requested in writing 15 calendar days before the start. The programme, dates and faculty may change, and ICAB reserves the right to cancel it.

Legal language courses 2026-2027

ICAB's International Training offers legal English (in person and online), legal French (online) and legal German (hybrid format, quarterly course). A minimum B2 level is recommended, and those without an official certificate can take an online level test.

As an example, the online Legal English course on Wednesdays is annual (October 2026 to June 2027), from 14:00 to 16:00, with about 60 hours and groups of about ten people. The bar association issues a certificate of achievement to those who meet the minimum attendance, and payment can be single or in three instalments (33%, 33% and 34%). ICAB's note marks that group as sold out. For the other courses and the calendar, the published contact is formaciointernacional@icab.cat.

Postgraduate in Legal Practice (EPJ)

For those preparing to enter the profession, it is relevant to know what the 2026 bar entrance exam is like. ICAB's EPJ has the October 2026 edition of the Postgraduate in Legal Practice open, with enrolment until 19 October, according to the 13 October note. It can be taken in person or online. Students choose two subjects from Civil, Criminal, Employment, Administrative, Commercial and Family, with classes from 18:00 to 20:30 (Mondays and Wednesdays for one, Tuesdays and Thursdays for the other). A second intake will start in March 2027. ICAB states that the programme is approved by the General Council of the Spanish Legal Profession and the Catalan Bar Council.

As the deadline for the October edition ends today, those arriving late should look at the March 2027 one.
