RLD has announced the move of its Madrid headquarters to the Cuzco II building, at Paseo de la Castellana 139, operational from 3 November, according to Líder Legal. The move places the boutique, specialised in corporate law, M&A and the expansion of Spanish and Latin American companies into the United Arab Emirates, on one of the most relevant corporate and financial axes of the capital.

The new office

The numbers behind the move explain its scale. After 28 years on calle Zurbano, where it occupied 253 square metres, the firm moves to a 450-square-metre office, almost 80 per cent larger, on the eighth floor, with natural light and views. The new space combines closed offices with open areas for team work, includes a room reserved for transactions and meeting rooms with videoconference systems to coordinate with the Dubai office, and leaves room to keep adding professionals.

Boutiques with an international vocation

RLD is a boutique that builds its differentiation on a concrete business corridor, here the expansion of Spanish and Latin American companies into the United Arab Emirates, and equips its structure with the resources to accompany the whole operation, from incorporation to hiring and international taxation.

The firm's working model reinforces that positioning: each transaction is handled by a small team in direct contact with the client, advising companies and family wealth on mergers, acquisitions and corporate transactions with rigour and discretion. The corridor itself is not new for the firm. RLD has had its own office in Dubai since 2012, from which it supports Spanish and Latin American companies setting up in the Emirates, and over these years it has advised more than 100 Spanish companies. In the most complex projects both offices work as one: Madrid coordinates the transaction from Spain and Dubai accompanies it on the ground.

In the firm's words

"We had outgrown our Zurbano office. We needed more space and the right technology to receive our clients and work as one team between Madrid, where we run the M&A transactions, and Dubai, from where we accompany companies in their internationalisation," explained Rafael López-Diéguez Piñar, RLD's managing director, to Líder Legal.
