ICAB's Compliance master's opens its 2026-2027 edition: CESCOM and IFCA certifications and a dual format
The Barcelona programme, with seven editions, prepares for the CESCOM and IFCA certifications and for practice as a compliance officer.

The Barcelona Bar Association, ICAB, keeps enrolment open for its Master's in Legal Specialisation in Compliance 2026-2027, one of the country's most recognised and longest-running programmes in the field, with seven editions behind it and a dual format, in person and online, according to the bar itself.
Three goals: certify, implement, practise
The programme is built around three objectives. First, preparing students to obtain the professional certifications CESCOM, from ASCOM, and IFCA, from the International Federation of Compliance Associations, accreditations identifying their holders as compliance experts nationally and internationally. Second, providing the keys to design and implement compliance management systems based on internationally accepted standards, through a final project consisting of designing a criminal compliance management system with its documentation. Third, delivering the practical knowledge to work as an in-house compliance officer or as a compliance auditor and consultant for other organisations.
A two-block structure
The first part corresponds to the CESCOM-IFCA certification block: good practices of the compliance function, compliance risk management, policies and codes of conduct, and criminal risk prevention in areas such as bribery and corruption, money laundering, competition law, data protection and consumer protection.
The second part rests on practical modules and specialisations: financial compliance, environmental compliance, labour compliance, compliance in sports entities, compliance and corporate criminal liability, or compliance in the public sector, among others.
Open to other degrees
A law degree or previous experience is not required: the programme regularly admits students from other related backgrounds. The faculty combines lawyers, economic-crime experts, compliance consultants and auditors, and practising compliance officers.
Practical details and registration
The technical secretariat of the cAmpus ICAB handles queries about the master's degree at the training centre at 281 Mallorca street in Barcelona, on 93 601 12 80 and at campus@icab.cat and masters@icab.cat. The programme is taught in a dual format, in person and online, which allows it to be combined with professional practice.
The final master's project, consisting of designing a criminal compliance management system with the corresponding documentation, turns the training into a piece directly usable in practice: students leave the programme with a complete system designed, as well as with preparation for the certifications. The teaching staff, made up of lawyers, experts in economic crime, compliance consultants and auditors and active compliance officers, maintains the practical approach that characterises Barcelona bar training.
