Ufenau finalises the purchase of tax firm Garrido, which will join its legal platform Asenza
The Swiss fund will close in December the integration of the firm founded by Miguel Ángel Garrido into Asenza.

Swiss fund Ufenau Capital Partners will close the purchase of tax firm Garrido in December, sources familiar with the deal confirm to El Confidencial. The Madrid firm will be integrated into Asenza Global Partners, the legal services platform the fund has built in Spain since late 2024.
A platform nearing 100 million
According to El Confidencial, Asenza's firms added up to some 77 million euros in revenue after Cosefinan's entry in February. The newspaper headlines this part of its report "100 M in combined revenue", referring to the platform with Garrido.
Ufenau entered the Spanish legal market in December 2024 with Sagardoy and Carrillo Asesores, later adding Sagardoy Legal & Expat, Bestax, Cosefinan and Copa Abogados. Íñigo Sagardoy has been the platform's chief executive since 30 June. The fund manages more than 5 billion euros, opened its Madrid office in 2021 and has since invested in more than 40 companies in Spain.
Who Garrido is
Founded in 1992 by Miguel Ángel Garrido, who requested leave from the State Finance Inspectors Corps after ten years in the Alicante and Madrid tax offices, the firm is, according to El Confidencial, among the most prominent in the Madrid legal ecosystem and is recognised by the Chambers & Partners directory as a reference tax firm. Its economic crime department is headed by fellow inspector on leave Carlos Neira. The firm attributes to itself two acquittals of businessman José María Aristrain: in 2022, of tax fraud (the Supreme Court annulled that ruling and the trial was repeated in May this year) and, in 2023, of asset-stripping.
And it is not the only conversation
Garrido's integration takes place in parallel with other negotiations: the same sources note that Ufenau is holding simultaneous talks with different sector firms with the aim of incorporating them in the coming months and expanding the platform's capabilities.
