Autumn brings several courses for practising lawyers. We have reviewed the official websites of the Spanish Legal Profession, the Valencia Bar Association and the Madrid Bar Association and gathered four offers with their details. Where the organiser does not publish the price or registration link in the news item, we say so and do not assume it.

Digital Justice course (Spanish Legal Profession)

The General Council of the Spanish Legal Profession has launched a Digital Justice course of 12 hours, with a practical approach. It is held on Tuesdays, from 20 October to 1 December, in six sessions.

According to the official information, it covers the electronic court file, digital notifications, remote proceedings, interoperability between systems and European digital Justice platforms. It also goes through services such as LexNET, the Electronic Court Portal, Carpeta Justicia and access to hearing recordings. It is announced in small groups and with a participatory methodology.

Basic Consumer Law course (ICAV)

The Valencia Bar Association organises, through its Consumer Law Section, a Basic Consumer Law course of 20 hours. Sessions are on 22 and 27 October and 3, 10 and 17 November 2026, from 16:00 to 20:00.

It can be followed in person, at the bar association's premises on plaza de Tetuán, or by streaming. The programme includes consumer and professional status, distance and electronic contracting, unfair terms, consumer credit, transport claims, banking contracts, the consumer arbitration system, the liability of credit institutions for cyberfraud and the precondition for suing under ADR. Registration is on the bar association's website, choosing the format.

2nd Advanced Banking Law course (ICAM)

ICAM's Study Centre began in early October the second edition of its Advanced Banking Law course. It runs until 23 April 2027, with 180 teaching hours in hybrid format, in sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays. It has 17 modules and more than 50 speakers from regulators, financial institutions and firms.

It covers the legal regime of credit institutions, banking supervision, contracting, compliance, governance, financial markets, customer protection, taxation, banking procedural law, restructurings and dispute resolution mechanisms. It also includes artificial intelligence, blockchain, crypto-assets, fintech, neobanks and digital payments. The note we consulted does not state a price.

Digitalise Your Firm, second edition (ICAM Foundation)

The ICAM Foundation, with the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, has started the second edition of the "Digitalise your firm" programme, aimed mainly at members with small firms. It runs from 7 October to 2 December 2026, in nine two-hour sessions. At the end, each firm receives a personalised roadmap for its digitalisation. The opening included a panel on the impact of artificial intelligence on small firms.

How to choose

  • If you litigate, the Digital Justice course covers tools you already use daily.
  • If you are going to start handling consumer matters, the Valencia course is short and allows streaming.
  • If you want to specialise, the Banking Law course is the longest of the four.
  • If you run a small firm, the digitalisation programme combines sessions and a roadmap.
