The 24th edition of the JAC, the Legaltech Day that the law firm Davara&Davara has organised since 2003, will take place on Tuesday 17 November 2026 at Universidad Europea de Madrid, Alcobendas campus (Avenida Fernando Alonso, 8), with the option of following it live online from anywhere, according to the information published by the organisers.

The JAC's proposal is to condense the year's developments in digital law into a single day: data protection, artificial intelligence, digital disconnection, biometrics, judgments and regulatory decisions. It is an annual, practical review format, with speakers who apply these rules every day, and the organisers pride themselves on loyalty: some attendees have not missed any of the previous 23 editions.

The format is the usual one: a sequence of short, practical talks throughout the day, with time for questions. The day reviews both regulatory changes and their real-world application, which is why it combines regulators, such as the AEPD, with practising professionals.

The conference is aimed at lawyers, consultants and compliance officers working with data protection, AI and digital employment law, as well as firms that want to bring their teams up to date before the end of the year.

Confirmed speakers

Confirmed speakers include Francisco Pérez Bes, deputy director of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), who speaks at 10:15, and Estela Martín Estebaranz, lawyer, communications director of SINCRO and president of the Equality Section of the Madrid bar (ICAM), with a talk titled "Digital disconnection and biometric data in employment: current situation and pending challenges".

The conference is led by Professor Miguel Ángel Davara, founding partner of Davara&Davara (1984) and an expert in digital law, and awards a double certificate from the firm and Universidad Europea de Madrid. Online attendance allows professionals to follow the talks live from anywhere, a useful option for firms outside Madrid that want to share the day among several team members.

Why it matters for a law firm

Annual review conferences help to organise a dense regulatory year: the staggered application of the AI Regulation, AEPD decisions and case law on data protection in the workplace are daily subject matter both for client advice and for firms' own compliance. The presence of the AEPD's deputy director offers a first-hand hearing of the supervisory authority's criteria.

To go deeper before the conference, we recommend our practical guide to the AI Regulation for high-risk cases and the analysis of the AI Regulation calendar after the digital Omnibus.
