Oviedo hosts the REAF Annual Conference this week: two days of tax novelties, with a closing by the Secretary of State for the Treasury

On 5 and 6 November 2026, the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo hosts the Annual Conference of the Register of Tax Adviser Economists (REAF), according to the programme published on the official website jornadastributarias.es. The agenda includes VAT, electronic invoicing, holding companies, tax residence and artificial intelligence in professional firms.
A first-level technical programme
Thursday 5 opens with the official inauguration at 9:30, followed at 10:15 by the inaugural lecture, "Current tax affairs: changes and relevant novelties", by Jorge Alberto Ferreras, director general of Tax. The programme then unfolds sessions on correcting VAT errors —charged quotas, improper deductions and tax penalties—, the derivation of liability to company and insolvency directors, corporate treasury and money not allocated to the economic activity, and the transformation process towards electronic invoicing, with the participation of the AEAT's tax IT department.
Speakers include the State tax inspectors José María Tocornal and Caridad Mourelo Gómez, and Sonia Díaz, tax partner at Cuatrecasas.
Friday: electronic invoicing, Veri*factu and ViDA
Friday 6 will include a round table on electronic invoicing, the Veri*factu system and the European ViDA project, as well as a session dedicated to the state and challenges of the Council for the Defence of the Taxpayer. The closing will be chaired by the Secretary of State for Finance, Jesús Gascón.
Thursday afternoon's agenda also covers holding companies formed through non-monetary contributions —administrative interpretation and current disputes—, the problems of tax residence under domestic and international rules, and the session "AI in professional firms: opportunities, risks and keys to transforming client service".
